At each annual GBBF CAMRA announces its Champion Beer Of Britain - CBOB. CBOB is normally judged at the Great British Beer Festival in August but the nomination process is almost an ongoing task. There are three ways that a beer can qualify of the competition. Firstly, as a result of CAMRA tasting panel decisions, there are thirty such panels each looking after a specific geographical area. The winners, divided into categories, then go into six super regions; the winners from this heat go to the final in August. Secondly, any CAMRA member can vote for their favourite beer via a form in What's Brewing, CAMRA's monthly newspaper. Thirdly, at the 150 CAMRA beer festivals held throughout the year, Beer of the Festival competitions are held and these winners are included in CBOB. |
